Imagine my joy when I heard that Bishop Allen was not only playing in the west coast, but in Los Angeles, and at my favorite venue. Lots of joy! I've been listening to them since just about right before they started their whole
EP-A-Month thing and had been getting increasingly more excited to see them. The venue was about 2/3rds full, pretty much the crowd I expected for an opening band on a week day. What I didn't expect was how vocal the fans were, both with cheering and faithfully singing along. I guess the "blog-o-sphere" buzz really is helpful. The band played fantastically and the fact that their set only lasted 40 minutes is a damn shame. I would've liked more songs from "Charm School", but all and all I really can't complain because the show was just so perfectly enjoyable. If Bishop Allen is coming to your town, do yourself a favor and go see them. Here's The Troubadour show.
I can't figure out what the name of the 5th song is; if you can help me you will win a super awesome special prize (seriously.) Also, my recorder turned off during the last (and possibly best) song in the set, "Things Are What You Make Of Them." I'm sorry!
